Going On A Trip To England? Visit The Peak District
If you are going on a holiday to
England, you can't miss visiting the lovely and humble village of Peak District
in Grindleford. It is one of the top tourist spots to visit in the UK that can
offer dozens of things to keep visitors busy during their tour. One of the most
picturesque parts of the Hope Valley, the Peak District, is found along the
River Derwent, showcasing the wild moorland of Eyam Moor in the western part
and Froggatt Edge in the eastern part. Close to the valley is the magnificent
Padley Gorge, which features the beautiful expanses of ancient woodland.
What can you do in Grindleford to
enjoy your holiday?
For cycling and walking adventures
around Grindleford's natural surroundings, there are some of the best routes
around the Peak District, most of which are managed by the National Trust. The
Derwent Valley Heritage Trail also passes through the Peak District village,
which is popular for trekking, climbing and gliding.
Grindleford residents enjoy
picnics and outdoor holiday activities near these areas. If you enjoy climbing,
the sandstone escarpment at Froggatt Edge can offer a great challenge. In
addition, mountain bikers can enjoy memorable rides along the edges of the Peak
District on their way to Big Moor.
If sightseeing is your thing, on
the way out of the village, outside the station, you can see Padley Chapel,
which is a Grade I listed building managed by English Heritage. Today, the
surviving Padley Hall is the huge manor house built in the 16th century.
The chapel grounds still contain
parts of the remains of the Hall. The chapel is open to the general public at
summer weekends and on Wednesdays, as well as during an annual pilgrimage in
July. Every June there is a fun carnival week, and every August there is a
village show where tourists can go to enjoy Grindleford's local events.
Grindleford has many popular pubs
for locals and tourists alike, serving excellent food and hospitality options.
The village has many beer gardens with great views over the valley. These pet
friendly pubs are perfect for eating, drinking and enjoying time with family
and friends.
